Annette Funicello's dancer was discovered on the streets of Fullerton California by Walt Disney at the age of 13 years of age. Her Mickey Mouse Club teammates were in a state of dismay at the time Funicello was added to her group later in season 1 of the series, and not needing to be auditioned for.
